Guilt trip

I will confide in you that I am rubbish with guilt.. on all levels. Example: I feel guilty for not having made work for the last two weeks, but I'm balanced in my guilt because for four years previously I had not made one single painting. I think the guilt stems from the idea that … Continue reading Guilt trip

Great, just as I am longing to make some large works to stretch my body into. Excited for the opening night. Kids were sick... we were … Continue reading the weak work

poetry and painting

I promised a blog about the place of poetry in my painting practice. I use it to detach myself from my immediate real experience, to allow myself to enter into a "romanticized" head-space where I can start to branch off into the physical act of painting. I like the experience of being at the seashore, … Continue reading poetry and painting

Thanksgiving and misgivings

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! I have had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and have much to be thankful for in my life. Process aside for a week... So to the misgivings. Artistic practice has its ups and downs. One of the areas I always wrestle with is publicity and marketing. Currently I am having misgivings about my … Continue reading Thanksgiving and misgivings

Process comes to a grinding halt..

I'm not going to treat you to descriptions, I got sick, last in our little family. Prior to this the week had been pretty full on from the mummy angle, nevertheless I have been drawing and researching the possibility of printmaking in Victoria. The print studio I have found looks pretty good: Ground Zero Printmakers http://www.groundzeroprint.comContinue reading Process comes to a grinding halt..
